Before founding Wellness Pilates, Leah had been working as a Reformer Pilates instructor, heading up the Ante/Post Natal department for a boutique fitness company in Central London for many years. Within this role, and others, Leah has worked alongside physiotherapists to build programs to support a multitude of different clients. Upon moving back to her hometown to enjoy the countryside with her family, Leah has made it her mission to bring Reformer Pilates to the people of Hampshire and West Berkshire. She is especially passionate about the physical, social, and mental health benefits that her classes provide.
"My number one goal is to improve quality of life by creating an environment where my clients can relax, release tension, have fun and make friends, all whilst priming their bodies to alleviate aches, pains and postural imbalances."
Sarah started Reformer Pilates in March 2024 at the Wellness Pilates Studio primarily to aid her recovery from major surgery and to help restore her core control, but she very quickly fell in love with it and worked her way up from Fundamentals, though to Intermediate and then Advanced. She trained as an instructor in the autumn of 2024.
Sarah is passionate about strength and conditioning, weight lifting, calisthenics and bodyweight exercises. She is also a keen pole dancer and aerialist.
"Reformer Pilates gives us all access to weight bearing exercise in a supported way. I want to use Reformer Pilates to help support people to be strong in their bodies so that they can live their lives to the fullest everyday and to be fit and strong for the future."
Jess started pilates in 2016 just as a hobby at first. She was a professional dancer Pilates was her go-to workout in between contracts. When lockdown hit, she decided to really start her pilates journey by taking a full studio course in Ascot where she fell in love with pilates even more. It wasn't long before she was instructing mat pilates classes around Berkshire and Hampshire and is thrilled to now be working at Wellness Pilates. In Jess' classes it is her mission to challenge but also to celebrate our bodies and the movement they give us every day.
"Together let's go that extra mile to make your time here at Wellness pilates positive, enjoyable, strengthening and most importantly fun. Can't wait to work with you! "
Sarah attended her first Pilates class about 15 years ago but it was only after she injured her back that she realised how beneficial Pilates was in keeping her moving. In fact, she loved Pilates so much that she decided to train as a Pilates Instructor.
Sarah initially trained in Classical Pilates and then followed this with further training at Body Control Pilates in London. She took part in her first Reformer Session whilst visiting America, and loved working with the added resistance of the springs to both challenge and support the range of movement. Soon after, she decided to train in Reformer and is thrilled to have joined the team at Wellness.
She is also qualified in pre/post natal Pilates, Pilates for Seniors and Yoga.
"I love to see my clients grow in confidence, increase their body awareness, strength and range of mobility. But most of all have fun!
Lizanne (Lizzy) has been teaching mat pilates for 10 years locally. Her pilates journey began when she sought to provide rehabilitation exercises for her sports massage clients. This naturally led to the increasingly popular world of reformer pilates which she finds hugely beneficial for her own body and mind, especially keeping strong and mobile as we age and our lives change.
" As Joseph Pilates once said - 'you are only as young as your spine moves!' "
